Herald: Throughout history, roses have been used to symbolize many things. Above all, the rose is beautiful, delicate, and withall a queenly flower;
And for all of its apparent fragility, it is a flower to be respected.
Her Majesty now calls all Ladies of the Rose to come before this court.
As an option, the members of the order may be called forward by name, in order of precedence, but this must be arranged in advance.
The Ladies of the Rose come forward and kneel.
Herald: Your Majesty, these noble ladies have ruled as Queen and stand before you now as Ladies of the Rose.
Queen: Greets the Ladies of the Rose in Her own words.
If the lady who is to be admitted is not already there (i.e. this isn't being done as part of her being made a Countess), then the Herald should call her forth:
Herald: Now let Countess ___________________ come before Her Majesty.
If there is a token, such as a rose, some form of a rose, or an item decorated with a rose, say:
Queen: My lady Countess, I bid you welcome and greet you as a new Lady of the Rose, in recognition of which I present you with a token of the Order. Be now, as you have been before, a model of honour and grace to the people of this realm.
Otherwise, there should instead be some other gift, and say:
Queen: My lady Countess, I bid you welcome and greet you as a new Lady of the Rose, in recognition of which I present you with this gift. Be now, as you have been before, a model of honour and grace to the people of this realm.
The Queen assists the new Lady of the Rose in rising (or directs her to rise).
Queen: Go now and greet your peers.
Herald: For Countess ______________________, newest companion of the Order of the Rose, Hip, HIP... (3 cheers).
Herald: Your Excellencies, you have Their Majesties' leave to depart.
